Black water buffalo horn

From India, this material is ideal for stick-making, once the sanding stage is finished will polish easily to high gloss lustre, some horns may have some colour in them but it is not guaranteed as this is only visible after sanding and polishing. All horns minimum 30mm thick at base.  Length of all horns measured on outside curve. Thickness and shape will vary slightly from images.

Solid buffalo horn pieces

For capping, but with sufficient material for thumb handles, for sgian dubh handles, blocks etc. approximately 3-4 inches x 2-3 inches x  .75 -1.25 inches

"A" Ramshorn average length 28" measured on outside curve, with sufficient solid horn for a market stick/crook and carving material, it is possible with these horns to make a handle and a thumbstick from one horn.

Rubber ferrules

Alpine spike ferrule, these are steel ferrules tapered with hole drilled for pinning and are measured internally from open end

Nickel silver alloy collars, beaded at both ends, adds a nice decorative touch to a handle. Can be engraved, hides and strengthens a joint.

Brass connecter flanged version which has a 25mm diameter flange which can be easily filed or sanded to fit workpiece. Ample length, can be cut easily if required.

Brass connecter straight joint can be used for hidden joint for bone/horn spacer fitted between joint.

Standard quality hazel shanks seasoned and straightened, good quality shanks, colour from light brown to dark brown and  mottled. Minimum order 3 shanks.

Quality chestnut shanks seasoned straightened with very dark reddy brown colouring, the colour intensifies when finished. These shanks are springier than ash shanks but lighter in weight. Minimum order 3 shanks.

Hazel shanks working grade.  Seasoned and reasonably straight with a little work these can be well worth the effort, colour from light to dark. Minimum order 3 shanks.

Coloured Hazel shanks seasoned and straightened. Unusual snakeskin and mottled colouring caused by lichen growth and spalting.  Limited stock.
